homework # 39

This chapter was about when Rebecca slowly understood her new school and town. The reason I say this is because when she was at school she started making new friends and getting to know her teacher better. Some friends that she made were Miss Dearborn (her teacher), Emma Jane Perkins, Susan, Elijah, Elisha, Clara Belle, and Samuel “Seesaw” Simpson. She also is getting to know the town because she is starting to know the place. She also meets new people in town such as Mr.Cobb, and Mr.Watson.

HW # 31

One song I heard was called "Take me away" by Natasha Bedingfield. I choose this song because she talks about being taken away to a secret place

HW #31

A song that reminds me of a time or place is "Buffalo Soldier" by Bob Marley. I remember this song because one of the people — his name was Jassim — I worked with in Iraq used to play a Bob Marley tape whenever we were in his car. One day we were driving to a city called Falluja and there was a lot of fighting going on. We came to an American army checkpoint and the soldiers who stopped our car and searched it did not want to let us continue. We began talking to them, and when they heard that our driver was playing Bob Marley, the soldiers started to relax. They let us through the checkpoint.

The African Burial Ground Essay

Why is the African Burial Ground important? It is important because it is a marking of when African people died,it is also important because some very important people were buried there. The African Burial Ground is a marking of African people because they were buried there a long time ago. They were buried there because they were either worked to death, killed, or killed themselves.

Important people were buried there. They were buried there because they died for fighting for our rights. Most people that were killed were men. I say this because most men were the ones who fought for our freedoms.

So now you know why the African Burial Ground is important because some important people were buried in it and it was dedicated to African people.
